Since 1990 James Cook Boys Technology High School has been a school with a focus on Technology. Today we are continuing to extend, challenge and provide our students with the highest technological and critical thinking skills to prepare them to be the leading learners of the future.
As a school we are utilising emerging technologies within education and examining how project and inquiry based learning supports authentic learning experience for students.
Components of our plan include:
- Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) - Students bringing personal devices to school for learning
- STEM - Science, Technology , Engineering & Mathematics Curriculum integration in Years 7/8 (Stage 4) and as an elective in Years 9/10 (Stage 5)
- STEM Club - After hours program to foster computational thinking skills and interest projects
- Lego Robotics
- 3D Printing and prototyping - integrated into interest projects and curriculum.
