About our school

James Cook Boys Technology High School is approximately 16 kms from the CBD. The site is located on the lands of the Bediagal People of the Eora Nation.

James Cook Boys Technology High School is a Year 7-12 comprehensive school with a proud tradition of academic and sporting excellence. The school is implementing a whole school strategy to improving literacy and numeracy as well as having a strong focus on developing an innovative approach to teaching and learning.  As a technology high school, there is a curriculum structure that supports the teaching of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) through project-based learning.

The school has a student enrolment of 289 including 80% of students from a non-English speaking background that represents more than 38 different cultural groups.

Students are supported to develop their academic, physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing within an inclusive and caring environment. There is an aspirational emphasis on promoting and supporting students in leadership roles to positively contribute to the school and the future of the broader community. Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) underpins student wellbeing with our expectations of safe, respectful, responsible and active learning. 

Our school has spacious grounds including outdoor & indoor Basketball courts, Tennis courts, indoor Badminton courts, a full size Football oval and a purpose build set of three indoor Squash courts and a weights training gym.
